Levasseur is a frequent collaborator and regular audience member of the contemporary performing arts. His work with experimental dance artists often includes intense analysis of the space in which the performance will happen and an attempt to find a specifically revised aesthetic functionality within the given venue. These collaborations seek a gently supportive design employing a deep cognizance of of the space, time, and the format of the art.

Painting: As object
As a painter, Levasseur employs a practice of collage and acrylic application to form the underlying structure; through the use of varied finishes and relief, surface information plays a major role in the content of any given piece. Though heavily influenced by expressionist artists, Levasseur's work contains chiefly non-pictorial abstract compositions. His technique consists of an evolving set of personally experimental treatments and chance procedures. Fractal geometry, salt, the history of place, and horizon landscapes often act as jumping off points in his work.
